UFO Odds Slashed....

This morning in my inbox there was an email from an old friend of mine who is of sober disposition and not one who would be prone to making outragious statements. He said. "Desperately reluctant to admit it, but 5 weeks ago I saw a fully paid-up UFO. All very odd, but awesome in a way. Whatever it was, and wherever it came from, it appeared to have nothing whatsoever to do with our civilization." This morning in the Scotsman I see that William Hill have slashed the odds on finding alien life to 100/1 after a rash of UFO sitings. They were at 500/1 and apparently the cut off for these bets is 'before Gordon Brown leaves No.10'. A sokesman for William Hill said. "We understand that sightings are going through the roof and we cannot ignore the fact that this could be an advance party." Let's just hope they dn't come through the roof....

Sorry for the dumb question from across the pond, but what does, 'fully paid-up' mean exactly?

Richard, I know an old rancher in Medicine Bow, Wyoming, from when I lived there--honest as snow is pure and white--and he insists he saw a UFO one night on the high plains of Wyoming. And knowning this man as well as I do---I BELIEVE HIM.

I meant 'knowing' not 'knowning'.
In rural Wyo, there were many instances of cattle mutilations and other bizarre events. I don't have an explanation. Just passing on the info.

Jeff, he means one that was absolutely like how we imagine a UFO to be....at least I think that's what that turn of phrase means.
