PC's Balls....and Everyone Knows It.

We call it "Political Correctness." The name originated as something of a joke, literally in a comic strip, and we still often think of it as only half-serious. In fact, it's deadly serious. It is the great disease of our century, the disease that has left tens of millions of people dead in Europe, in Russia, in China, indeed around the world. It is the disease of ideology. PC is not funny. PC is deadly serious. PC exploded in the late 1980s grew in popularity until it became both unwritten and written law within the community. Especially within certain sections of the media.

PC is turning the whole world grey, it is making us boring and I’m bored with it! Political correctness has been described as communal tyranny, and it’s difficult to argue against the premise. But what exactly does it mean.

Political - voiced support for policies and principles regarded by authorities as unacceptable and carried out for reasons that best serve a desired outcome rather than for reasons that are, for example, morally justifiable

Correctness - to modify something, for example, behaviour, to make it acceptable or bring it up to a particular standard

One of my favourite recent examples of PC was when the BBC advertisied for a new chair - wanted one easy chair, not too worn - to the rest of us they were seeking a new Chairman.

Several newspapers ran advertisements for the post of "BBC Chair". Leaving aside the political correctness of the absurd job title, it concludes with the words: "Applications are particularly welcome from women, and people from ethnic minority backgrounds and disabled people."

If such applications from those categories are "particularly welcome", it follows that applications from others are less welcome, thereby amounting to discrimination against able-bodied British males.
