Ship of State's Captain is AWOL

This morning on Andrew Marr there was Kate Hoey saying that the aftermath of the hostage crisis would never have happened four years ago. "It would have been managed" is how she put it. To me it's much simpler than that. There's no one in bloody charge. The government is leaderless, there's division and people are jockeying for position. It's like in an organization where the head announces he's retiring/leaving in 6 months. Everything from there on in is about whose next. Positions are adopted, new allegiances are forged, old friends are ditched and corporate politics take over. That's what we have now, Labour politics are obstructing the job of government. Of course virtually no one in government understands this basic business precept because they've got no experience.
