Brown's Resignation?

Well it's a fair question isn't it? Surely after solving the world's financial crisis the last time by telling the world what to do, and it not working here in the UK, then maybe he should just go. This idea that he's the only man that can save us seems increasingly hollow. Is the rest of the world really in the kind of hole that we in Britain are? Somehow it doesn't seem like it. Yesterday Brown kept thundering on about it being everyone else's fault but his.

Just remember we didn't elect him; he's not there by right. He's a bit like a caretaker manager at a football club – the only difference is he hasn't had that lucky 'Brown bounce' where there's an upturn in the results.

It's a great comfort this morning to know that George W Bush is back home in Texas.

Now if only Pa Broon would go home too.

And now Obama , who has been in talks with Brown, is going to follow his fiscal policies advice.

I guess he didn't get the memeo that Brown couldn' budget a 12 year old's allowance.

...as I previously said of Mandelson, it seems a bit like making Nero the fire-chief in Rome. Barely has it burst, and already the South Sea Bubble is being re-inflated....

I don't understand your comment Richard where you say that we - the people - didn't elect Gordon Brown.

Have I missed something here? Did he not win his constituency seat by the UK elctoral process at the last general election?

And did he not win the ruling party's own democratic process to become leader of said party?

Sounds like democracy to me.

I've just read your website for the first time having surfed in from a link on another blog.

Interesting reading. But boy are you such a right-winger, eh? I won't be back, which of course, will be no loss to you.

Ross, I appreciate you're not coming back, but you know very well what I am saying. GB was not the leader of the Labour Party when he stood in the general election. The act that he won the Labour Party's election to be leader is hardly something to crow about.

I think you confuse my lack of appreciation for the Labour Party with being a right winger. That is something I'm not. It's difficult to see how anyone can associate Nu-Lab with left wing. The P of D and the rest of them are fully paid up members of the gravy train. . .and wouldn't know a left wing idea if it smacked 'em up the side of the head.

O Bama is actually from West Cork.

As for Mr Broon. I suspect judgments are a trifle premature despite his current poll standings. It is difficult to know what medicine will work in the present dire straits-the banks seem to be bouncing back. And other countries are followung his principles, like it or not.Revisit this page in six months time and perhaps the verdict of history might be a trifle kinder.
The smooth Mr Cameron, that advocate of the laisser Faire free economy would have fiddled (and not just his accountant) as the City burned!
