Peacocks in the Borders

Mrs. H. just came running back into the house saying, "Quick, quick, where's my camera." Next thing she's hot-footing it back down the garden. This was the result . . . as she said, "I didn't think we'd be seeing this."

That is FABULOUS! They keep telling me this is a butterfly attracting plant and I keep repeating it to customers but now....you have provided me with solid proof! This would make a perfect poster in our little retails greenhouse, aka. the old cow barns. Read about them at http://thegreenhousediaries.blogspot.com/2008/08/what-to-do-with-number-two.html

Fantastic to actually see some butterflies for a change. There hasn't been a downfall in their numbers... you've just been hogging them!

Absolutely fabulous, Richard.

And please be sure to report back to Frau H., that I have - thus far - potted twelve (12) jars of first rate Hertfordshire blackberry jam!

Was in Aberdour Friday and next to two huge buddleia bushes were masses of peacock butterflies. At one time there were 8 sunning themselves on the road. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera but the numbers were similar to yours. I'd never seen this before. I'm so glad you captured this

That's the most beautiful picture! And to think I was thrilled to photograph just one! Mind, I don't have buddleia, so I have to take what I can get.

DT, We'll try to be less greedy!, CP, Mrs.H. and I agreed we had never seen that many together before. Mind you that's the most blooms our buddleia has ever had. Dreamy, living so much farther north and so high up blackberries are much less ripe here. We walked up the hills this morning with the dogs and Mrs. H. picked 4 that she generously gave up for my granola and yoghurt topping.

Wow, was exactly my response. Calum we had friends round last night who said they had seen a mass of butterflies on a bush in the last couple of days, maybe it's timing or atmospherics? Dragonstar...get a buddleia!
