Save The Organization To Prosperity

According to the Glasgow Herald this morning The National Trust for Scotland will reduce its workforce by almost one in six. This will probably see between 60 and 80 jobs lost out of total staff of 500 in an effort to save £3m. Apparently this is as a result of a review by their new chief executive Mark Adderley, who was formerly Scottish Water’s director of human resources. Falling visitor numbers and increased costs are being blamed for this cut. It’s interesting that the Trust hire a man whose background in HR would likely have him trying to save the organization to prosperity rather than see it market its way out of its problems.
