Blair’s long goodbye ends on May 9 - says the very excellant First Post. If this is true, bang goes my £5 bet for a 2008 departure. I'm £200 worse off than I was set to be.

The thing is why wait until after the elections.

1. If it's a disaster then it's all TB's fault
2. Do Labour think that by announcing it before it will overshadow the elections and make things even worse
3. Do Labour think that it will be better having TB there in the run up to the polls than GB
4. Has GB got something on TB that forces him to take the rap and leave Broon on a clean sheet.
